The first owner (origin), Bob and Manuca Pickett and their children came to Idaho from Argentina in 1977. Not long after, La Pizzeria was opened on Main Street in Rigby, Idaho, where the idea of a flaky, crispy warm food pocket was born. The pickets named their intention the Bambino. It was an instant success. Literally, generations have been raised enjoying Bambinos.
Bill and Ilene Banta took ownership in 2010 and helped grow the business for five years.
Over the years, restaurant ownership has changed three times but one thing has been constant - the high quality and great taste of the Bambinos. Since 2000, The Great Bambino Manager, Dalila Valdez has ensured only the highest standards will do and her guidance and commitment have made The Great Bambino a household name in Rigby, ID that everyone enjoys.
Vervain (aka V) and Roy Theiss relocated from Las Vegas, NV in 2015 to Rigby and immediately fell in love with rural lifestyle. Having worked/owned restaurants since 1980, V knew The Great Bambino was an excellent oppportunity to serve her new community.
Since taking ownership on Labor Day, 2015, V and Roy have helped numerous organizations from local schools to the American Legion. They look forward to growing The Great Bambino Italian Restaurant and giving back to their community on an even larger scale.
